Monthly Faves

August Favorites

Welcome to our monthly favorites! Just as the title suggests, each month we will list a few of our favorite things that we’ve been loving throughout the month. Check our August picks!

IMG_2156Meredith and Olivia Swift earrings, simple and adorable, what’s not to love? Also a birthday gift, which is also fun.

Lush Toothy Tabs. They’re slightly odd and take some time to get used to but I love Lush and am always on board with trying new things.

Sun Bum Sunscreen. Cruelty free, vegan, reef friendly, oxybenzone & octinoxate free, paraben free, oily and PABA free. But here’s the best part. IT WORKS. As a seriously pale person who loves the beach and also loves animals and the ocean it’s hard to find an all-natural sunscreen that actually works. God bless Sun Bum.

Magnolia Home Vase. It’s beautiful, matches my house perfectly (like seriously, it’s scary how well it matches my house). Also another birthday gift. Clearly my friends know me.

And last but not least my beautiful jewelry box which is a one-of-a-kind item. I adore Ellen Hollands artwork. Not only is it beautiful, but she’s also one of my dear friends’ mom, which makes it very cool. While we were in Florida we went to Quayside Gallery where she has an exhibit and I stumbled across this beautiful box. Turns out Shea was planning on getting me a jewelry box anyways and had his parents go back after we left and get it for me. I adore this and am so excited to start my collection! Thank you Ellen for sharing your beautiful gift with the world!

Here are a few of my favorite things in no particular order: my Macbook Pro, Beats headphones, eye mask, apple spice candle and Friends.

Basically these are things that won’t be far from me for the next few months. I’m taking two online classes this semester and will be spending LOTS of quality time with my laptop. Other than it being great piece of technology, it has a sparkly gold case which speaks to my soul. My headphones will be put to use as well, because I don’t like missing out on things when I have to do homework. They block out the sound so I can focus on school, but allow me to still sit on the couch near my husband while he’s watching tv or something (I’m weird and needy like that).

The eye mask is something I use when I’m trying to fall asleep fast. The weight of it on my eyes has a weird calming effect as well as making it super dark. They didn’t have an all black one at the store when I found it, so now I’m just a little bit fabulous when I sleep. #sorrynotsorry

I AM SO READY FOR FALL. I’ve been lighting this candle for weeks already, and as you can see, it was used a lot last fall. Don’t worry, I have several other fall scented candles ready to take its place when it is done.

Last, but not least is Friends (the show, not the people although I love my people friends).  I’m currently on season two. I know, I know – I’m a little late to the game on this one, but It’s the perfect show to take a quick break and watch an episode or two. I may or may not have just taken a quiz to see which Friends character I am… I got Mike (Paul Rudd), but I haven’t gotten to the part in show that he is in, so I don’t know if that’s accurate or not. I’ll keep you posted.

My top favorite thing this month is my new apartment! I’ve been here just over a month and am slowly making it feel more like home. I’ll give you all a full tour when everything is unpacked and I get a couch, but for now, here are a few of my favorite little details.

The next thing I’ve been loving this month is my HP Sprocket. It’s a cute, little mini printer that prints photos straight from your phone’s camera roll. Bonus, the prints are also stickers, so they stick perfectly in my bullet journal, which is my next favorite.

How’s that for a transition? I started attempting a bullet journal in January and recently picked it back up again. I’m a planner fanatic, so getting to create my own planner is a dream. I love to collage and use my Sprocket prints to personalize mine. Having my agenda, notes, goals, church notes, and habit tracking in one place is a game changer.

Lastly, I thought I’d share the music I’ve been listening to this month. If you haven’t heard of Sarah Close, you need to go check her out asap. I’d recommend ‘You Say’ & ‘Only You’ to start. Hillsong Young & Free’s new album ‘III’ has been playing non stop this month, and, when I’m not listening to either of those, (don’t @ me) then I’m listening to Christmas music. Yep, already. It’s just who I am (I blame owe my dad).

We cannot believe it’s almost SEPTEMBER!
